It’s Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday on November 2 and his fans across the globe have been waiting for this special day for months. They have their plans set much like the actor and his loved ones. Kind Khan will turn 58 this year. His success story in Bollywood is an inspiration to all. Khan’s films Pathaan and Jawaan have become the most successful films this year.Actor turned humanitarian Somy Ali, who now runs her NgGo, No More Tears, wishes the actor, talks about his journey and transition from TV to films to becoming the superstar and name their favourite film of SRK.
"Firstly, manners warrant wishing him an extremely wonderful birthday with his family, friends and knowing Shah Rukh, he will inevitably give a part of him to his fans be it on his balcony.May Allah bless him and all his loved ones for eternity and may we see him shine on the screen and personally for countless years. He did it all on his own and showed the world that nothing is impossible. His hard work came to fruition and he deserves to savor and cherish every moment of it," she says. As for his journey, a few days ago, Somy was feeling nostalgic, and as one who never misses a Shah Rukh film, she recently watched DDLJ and Anjaam back-to-back on her day off.
"It literally blew my mind because the former film as a viewer made me root for him to no end and the latter made me wish his character would be held accountable given how much repulsion I felt toward him. Now that's hardcore evidence of not only his versatility, but how hard Shah Rukh works. He has worked tirelessly to be where he is now, but it's not just his talent that I admire, but his humility towards all of mankind. Even his charity work is unbeknownst to all of us.He is a real life hero even if you take away all the glamorous and ostentatious facade that is intertwined in his life," she adds.
While she was never properly introduced to him, the only one time Somy saw Shah Rukh was when he walked into Salman Khan's van as he had packed for the day and wanted to say goodbye. She continues, "I was seated right next to Salman and Salman did not introduce me to him and no one wants to acknowledge a kept woman as that's how I was known for the first four years. But I had many encounters with Gauri (Khan) and she was always nothing, but warm and kind to me. Even when I met up with her in my hometown, Miami, a few years ago ago, she displayed exactly the same warmth and asked about 'No More Tears' and its progression. She is a beautiful and an extremely kind hearted woman and I wish her and their entire family love, peace of mind, health, and success in everything they do."
Talking about his films, she adds, " I am very happy for him because I don't believe that aside from Aamir (Khan) and Shah Rukh, anyone puts in as much energy in their work as these two do amongst the male actors. Therefore, how can it not be a success? At this point anything with Shah Rukh it's a given that it will be appreciated no matter what as he understands his viewers mindsets and what will entice them. He knows and understands their palate and always serves them keeping in mind what they will savor . He's a sharp businessman along with an extraordinary performer because no one can make you cry like Shah Rukh, Kajol and Rani. Additionally, he has tons of wisdom and advice which I respect and realize it's coming from a genuine place rather than just mere words."
So, which film of his is your all time favorite and why? "It would have to be Veer Zaara because of both the leads, the acting, the direction and of course the script. It's deeper than two people falling in love and the country's separation bans them from loving another. There is depth and a huge message for both India and Pakistan that we are more similar than different. As the song goes, Aisa Des Hai Mera. As much as I love seeing Rani (Mukerji) and Kajol (Devgn) always with Shah Rukh, I loved Preity (Zinta Goodenough) in this movie. She performed phenomenally well as Zaara (in Veer Zaara) and I can never get tired of watching that film. And of course there's always Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Anything what Karan (Johar) makes has to be watched as his brilliance is combining intellect with an appeal to the masses too. That's not easy to do as a filmmaker. Thus, I never miss a movie that comes from Karan," she ends.

Rinku Ghosh on Junooniyat going off air: I take it as the beginning of another new chapter

Actress Rinku Ghosh says that it’s sad that her show Junooniyat is going to end. But it’s the start of something new as well, she says. “Well, at first, I was a little sad. I was not prepared for this to end so soon, as the show is doing well. It's the second highest time spent on the channel in the friction category, people too were loving it. While doing a serial there are many bonds you make with your co actors as we spend most of our time with each other. So, it's like a family is breaking. But now I take it as the beginning of another new chapter. 'Every end has a new beginning',” she says.
Tv industry is very unpredictable, she says, adding, “In the TV industry anything can happen anytime. It all depends on the people what content they like or dislike. So, I just go with the flow and concentrate on my work and character.”Talking about the her upcoming plans, she says, “I'm looking for a really strong pivotal role. I just cannot do a character which does not add any value to the main story line. As I said earlier that in TV the content's likes and dislikes depend on our viewers. Sometimes they get stuck to one particular show that they are watching. Whereas there maybe/are better shows on different channels. Hence to make them shift to a different show can take time.”
Maninee De talks about her role Rajrani in Ravie & Sargun Mehta’s show Dalchini

Ravie Dubey and Sargun Mehta’s new show Dalchini is coming on air soon on Dangal TV. One of the protagonists is being played by talented Maninee De. Speaking more about her role she says,”Rajrani is a very complex role. Her superpower is her special gourmet skill. She believes that you cook only when you weigh, measure and put the spices proportionately. You know you have to be very accurate with the amount of spice that you put and there's a proper technique to it. She is very particular about everything. She is a cleanliness freak and she has OCD. She knows that this is her identity and her calling card. She holds the reins of the house because she is such a fantastic cook. She has a lot of complexities. I personally believe there's nothing like being black or white. I believe each one of us responds or reacts to a situation and based on that our darker or our lighter side comes out. Which means the more evolved side comes out in the shadows. I am looking at it from a very psycho spiritual point of view. She has her own motivation and is very clear.” She also adds, "She has been ambitious all her life. Her son is her weakness as well as her strength. And the son too is very devoted to his mother. So now the whole play out happens between Rajrani and Dalchini. The son is the central focal point in the terms that his mother is the best cook in the world. They have a beautiful relationship.” She also shares,”The diversity of the role prompted me to take this up.”
Speaking about her distinct look in the show Maninee says, "I am carrying a look like this for the first time in my career. I am going with the mood board of my character and with the writer and director's vision. I also try to put in my suggestions whenever it’s needed. We are all trying to make Rajrani look different.”
Maninee also shares some great anecdotes on the producer couple. She says, "Both Ravie & Sargun are thorough professionals and enterprising makers. They have done a lot of work on television and that’s the reason they know the industry inside out. I am looking forward to a great creative relationship with them. They are lovely human beings. I am also a huge admirer of their work. The energy that they bring is so pure and beautiful, it inspired me to take up this. I met Ravie at an award function where we both were receiving awards and he told me how much he has loved my work. He asked me if I am doing tv or not and I have not done television for the last 2.5 years. But I told him if he has something in his mind for me I would love to take it up. And here I am today working for his show in Chandigarh. It’s kind of a dream come true moment. I love each and every person in the cast-crew. It’s a treat to work with the director Amit Gupta. Dreamiyata Entertainment gives me so much respect for my work, they make me feel at home.”
