Actor Shilpa Shetty has denied any connection with HotShots, the app at the eye of storm in connection after the arrest of her husband and businessman Raj Kundra. Shetty was questioned by the Mumbai Police on Friday in connection with the case.
Shetty claimed her husband is innocent.
Raj Kundra was arrested earlier this week and sent to police custody till July 27. The police has called him the key conspirator and claimed the businessman made financial gains through the app, which hosted pornographic content.
Shilpa Shetty told the police that she wasn't aware of the exact content of HotShots, according to news agency ANI. She claimed that she has nothing to do with the app, reported ANI quoting police officials who questioned Shetty. She mentioned that erotica is different from porn and her husband Raj Kundra wasn't involved in producing porn content, according to the news agency.
Shilpa Shetty said that it was London-based wanted accused and Raj Kundra's brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi who was involved with the app and its functioning.
Kundra, meanwhile, moved Bombay high court challenging his arrest but his bail plea was rejected. The remand plea by police said that Kundra received huge amount of money and suspected that the businessman was using this money for online betting. So the crime branch had called for forensic investigation of his accounts.
