As far as the Indian entertainment space is concerned, whenever there's a conversation about actresses who are also successful and inspiring entrepreneurs, the name of Preeti Jhangiani will always crop up first in that direction. While entrepreneurship ideas might be plenty, not all of them are also in favour of the country's pride at a global level and that's where Preeti Jhangiani stands out. The diva has put in a lot of effort alongside her husband and co-founder Parvin Dabas to make 'Pro Panja League' a cult brand in the global armwrestling space in today's time. Today, everybody talks about the tournament and its impact because of the kind of success that it enjoys. However, ever wondered what was it that triggered the idea behind the vision towards Pro Panja League? Well, today, the actress spills the beans herself.
On being asked about how the idea actually originated behind the magnanimous vision of 'Pro Panja League', Preeti shares and we quote, "Well, both Parvin and I have together built on it right from the scratches. However, I must say that the idea of the league first originated in his mind. He has always been a sportsperson who's always been very interested in any kind of sport. Later, we both brainstormed a lot and worked together to execute this brilliant idea. Given the kind of popularity panja has in every nook and corner of this country, we both collectively felt that armwrestling as a sport had tremendous potential since everyone knows about it already. In many ways, it was very practical as well. It has the much required Indian ethos, the rules are very simple and also the financial entry point is very less thereby making it relatively acceptable and more accessible. I still remember the first season that was held in Delhi at the Indira Gandhi Stadium and it had a massive viewership of 32 million unique viewers. The numbers themselves speak volumes of the kind of success that we have had."
Well, Preeti Jhangiani certainly deserves a tremendous amount of love and appreciation for chasing her passion and following her instinct alongside her husband Parvin. Their names will certainly go down in history as the 'OG' when it comes to armwrestling. Here's hoping and wishing Preeti great success for everything that she does going forward. Stay tuned for more updates.
Parvin Dabas, the owner of the 'Pro Panja League' shares deets about his association with sports

Parvin Dabas is a maverick in the true sense of the term. Apart from being the versatile actor which he is, he's also an active entrepreneur and a visionary who's truly made the country proud at a global level. Yes, that's right. He's the main man behind the visionary 'Pro Panja League' and together along with his wife, he's helped 'Panja' aka 'armwrestling' truly escalate to new heights. While Parvin has played a pivotal role in putting India on the global map when it comes to the field of armwrestling, not many are perhaps aware of the fact that the talented and dashing persona has been a huge sports freak himself, right from childhood. Well, only someone completely dedicated towards sports can have such a beautiful vision, right? On being asked about his association with sports and the games he's been most passionate about, Parvin said and we quote,
"Well, today, I might be occupied with multiple things like acting and business. However, there's a saying that 'Once a sportsman, always a sportsman.' That's exactly the reason why my mind might be preoccupied with things related to acting and entrepreneurship. However, the heart still beats for sports. Throughout my life, I have played different sports like boxing, kickboxing and basketball . Apart from all this, I am also quite proactive when it comes to running and hiking. Besides this, I am an avid underwater diver and that demands a great amount of fitness. I also keep a lot of interest in MMA and armwrestling, that literally goes without saying. As a sports entrepreneur , I am very happy with what Pro Panja League has been able to do. But, having said that, it's about doing what's required next to level up and both Preeti and I are focused towards that goal. We have very big plans for the future of Panja/Armwrestling in the country and are working towards that.
Well, kudos really to Parvin for doing something unthinkable and 'out of the box' and tapping a zone which always had potential but not much attention. His contribution to Indian armwrestling deserves all the love and respect certainly and here's wishing him great success going forward for all his future endeavours. Stay tuned for more updates.

Yuva Badminton League: Deepshikha Nagpal opens up on owning super smashers

Actress Deepshikha Nagpal, who owns Super Smashers in Yuva Badminton League, says that this is a dream come true for her. She adds that she had always wanted to own a sports team, and is thrilled to be finally doing it.“I feel very grateful and proud that I own a team. God has been kind, as this was my dream. When you watch cricket, you wish to have a team in your name. I never thought I would be an owner of a badminton team. When Capt. Vineet and Pawanji came to me with this idea. I knew this is going to be very big. Also, for me, owning any sports team is such a great honour. So immediately, I said yes,” she says.
She adds that this league is sure to help badminton reach a wider audience. “What makes this special is that this is all for a social cause also. This will help promote the game in a big way. I feel very responsible as a team owner because it's not only about owning a team, but it's the responsibility that comes with that. You need to ensure that your team has everything that it needs, that the players get proper training, and they play better,” she says.
Ask her if she is personally fond of the game, and she says, “When you talk about badminton, it is very close to my heart. I used to play badminton very well during my college days. My dad and I used to play gully badminton as he used to love playing the game as well. I have this memory of him playing badminton with me till today. I love badminton as it is full fitness, you do full cardio. When I play at the club, I come back so tired, yet so rejuvenated. It’s such a nice feeling.”
She adds, “I used to study in a hostel and I used to only do outdoor activities. Like Lezim and Talwar fight, I was good in every outdoor activity. I have a club membership, and I am so happy that my kids go swimming, and play football, badminton, leaving their gadgets behind. Parents should always encourage their children to go and play outside. I feel that children should also pick up one sports activity and they should train in it. If not on a national level, you have to at least do it for your fitness.”
When we think of sports, we think of only cricket. The actress says that this mindset needs to change. “When we talk about sports, we think about cricket only. It's like every fruit is nice but you think of mango first because mango is the king of fruits. So because cricketers have been getting into acting, and doing commercials, people know more about it. But we need to be more inclusive of other games too. We need to change that mindset that only cricket matters. When I was a kid, I used to watch tennis and badminton with my dad and we never saw much cricket. I feel when actors own a sports team, the popularity of the game increases. Somewhere as an artist, I'm contributing to a sports activity, and that makes me proud,” she says.
