Madhuri Dixit gets emotional while talking about Saroj Khan

The love, affection and admiration Saroj Khan and Madhuri Dixit have for each other was never hidden from anyone. And with Madhuri completing 40 years in the entertainment industry, how can she forget her Guru on such a special occasion? "Guru-shishya bond with Saroj ji was very special because of her art. I used to love the way she used to picturize a song and her dance movements. We had pledged that we will do a lot of songs together but I want every song to be unique. That is how she came up with hook steps. She used to say, people will connect automatically with the steps. Then sometimes she used to say, ‘why did I agree with you for that because I used to remember every step. Whenever steps got repeated, I used to tell ‘Saroj ji arre we used this in this song’ and she was like ‘baap re tu hathi ki tarah memory rakhti hai aur ab main pareshan ho gayi hun’, (laughs)" Madhuri Dixit shared, while opening up about her bond with legendary dancer choreographer Saroj Khan.
Madhuri Dixit is on her USA tour, organized by Shreya Gupta and Atique Sheikh, on the occasion of completion of 40 years in the industry. Elaborating on her bond with the late choreographer, Madhuri Dixit got emotional and said, "She used to come up with so many beautiful dance numbers. The way she used to choreograph, the way she was, I mean she used to shout or whatever used to happen, I used to love her because of her art and how she was a woman in a man’s world. She was the first woman choreographer who made it to the top and I had a lot of respect for that." "She used to say you are like my daughter on the sets, so don't worry about anything. Yes, I really miss her," Madhuri Dixit concluded with tears in her eyes.

Independence Day: Bharat’s real treasure is its culture and heritage, says Nikhil Nanda

On the occasion of Independence Day, actor-producer and industrialist Nikhil Nanda shared his thoughts on the importance of India's cultural heritage and the role of cinema in shaping society. Nikhil, who is also a fitness enthusiast, emphasized that the entertainment industry plays a crucial role in disseminating ideas and fostering progress within society.
"The best that India has done is creating cinema which is international but at 1/10 the cost. Nikhil firmly believes that Bharat’s real treasure lies in its rich culture and heritage. "Cinema is a super powerful tool to ensure the same reaches out to the masses in the most effective way," he said. According to him, cinema has the unique ability to preserve and promote India's cultural legacy, ensuring that it is accessible to a broad audience.
When asked about what makes him feel truly independent living in India, Nikhil expressed his deep appreciation for the freedom the country offers. "Bharat is the only country in the world that gives real freedom in terms of ensuring we can do and practice as we like, and say as we feel appropriate," he remarked. For Nikhil, this freedom to express oneself and live according to one’s beliefs is a testament to the true essence of independence in India.
