RD is commonly known as the 'Music Scientist' and the 'King of Bollywood Music.'He composed the musical scores for about 331 movies from 1960s to 90s. For several decades, he produced iconic music in Hindi and Bengali. Fondly known as 'Panchamda' by his fans, Burman weaved nothing but magic with songs on the silver screen. 
 
Caravan was a superhit domestically in India. It found even greater success in China. Caravan released in China in 1979 and became a blockbuster thereThe music of '1942 A Love Story' which was released after RD's death, was highly successful. It posthumously won him the third and last of his Filmfare Award.
