Falguni Shah & Ricky Kej win Grammy Awards-2022

Two Indian musicians were among the winners at the 64th Grammy Awards 2022 ceremony which was held in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday night. Composer Ricky Kej won his second Grammy Award as she and Stewart Copeland won the award for Best New Age Album. Indian-American singer-songwriter Falu won her maiden trophy for Best Children's Music Album on the night. Falu, whose real name is Falguni Shah, won in the Best Children's Music Album category for her album A Colorful World. The New York-based musician has, in the past, collaborated with AR Rahman for Slumdog Millionaire. She received her early training in music in Mumbai, where she trained under the legendary sarangi and vocal master Ustad Sultan Khan.Ricky Kej, meanwhile, added to his 2015 win with a second Grammy Awards. He and Stewart Copeland won the Best New Age Album award for Divine Tides.

Meanwhile, it was Bruno Mars-led Silk Sonic, which won two of the big awards of the night – Record of the year and song of the year for Leave the Door Open. While Jon Batiste took home five trophies, including Album of the Year for ‘We Are’. Rodrigo took home three trophies, including the best new artist. Pop ssensation Olivia Rodrigo won Best New Artist and Best Pop Solo Performance. Pakistani singer Arooj Aftab accepts the best global music performance for Mohabbat.

The 2022 Grammys, which kicked off on Sunday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas  was hosted by Trevor Noah. At the event, singer Olivia Rodrigo made an impressive Grammy debut.
