Actor Surekha Sikri dies of cardiac arrest

National Award winning actor Surekha Sikri died in Mumbai early on Friday. She was 75.

Her manager confirmed the news, saying that Sikri died due to cardiac arrest and was surrounded by the members of her family in the final hours. She was unwell for some time and even suffered stroke in 2020.

Sikri was known for her role in popular television serial Balika Vadhu and made notable appearances in films like Badhai Ho. In fact, she was part of the show from its inception in 2008 till the end of 2016.

Sikri was born in Uttar Pradesh and graduated from the National School of Drama in 1971.
