A tribute to the legendary singer Mohd Rafi

One of the greatest playback singers born in India, Mohammad Rafi was one of the most iconic and influential Indian singers of all time. His greatness was notable with his highly prolific career, versatility and range of his singing. Humrahi- probably only one song Rafi and Mubarak Begum sang together !!

Mubarak Begum broke her streak for not singing in commercial films other than gazals. And what an exception she made.
Apart from Indian languages, he gave his melodious voice to songs in English, Arabic, Persian Sinhalese, Creole and Dutch languages. The last song he recorded was ‘Shaam Phir Kyun Udaas Hai Dost’ for music director duo Laxmikant Pyarelal for the film Aas Paas. Mohammed Rafi died of a massive heart attack on July 31, 1980. Rafi sang 7,500 songs in multiple languages and his Hindi songs are thousands in numbers.
