Kiss Ishq N Konnection (KINK) season 1 winner Varsha Hegde says she hates taking holidays.Though she is an avid traveler, she confessed that she loves to travel as long as it is for work.“I hate taking a vacation. Yes, I do love traveling, and if my work gives me travel, then there is nothing better than that. I actually do not look forward to much vacation because the work I am doing is actually a paid vacation for me,” she said.“I just want to travel with my work, like having a Zumba master class, a dance workshop, or some shoot that happens in a different location. I just like to be sorted with my work, and I do not want to take any leave from the work that I do,” she added.
Varsha further said that she hates to take days off from her work but revealed that she took a break only after her reality show KINK came to an end.“I don’t take breaks from my work, and I love my work. I am not that much of a phone addict as well. The only break I needed was after I did a reality show, as it is shot 24x7 and you are not in contact with the outside world,” she said.“So at times, I just wanted to get back to my routine once I was out of the reality show. I wanted to take a break then, as breaks help you regulate or get back to your normal life. You need to be there in the buzz and keep your work going. I am a super workaholic, ambitious, and focused,” Varsha concluded.

Playing a cop on-screen is very challenging: Ankit Bathla

Savdhaan India - Apni Khaki actor Ankit Bathla, who is seen in the character of Shiva Agnihotri, says it is emotionally very challenging for him to play intense scenes on-screen. He says that he starts to feel the victim’s pain in real life and gets emotional.“Sometimes when there's a character in front of me and it's a criminal, and when I get to know the story, or they're confessing, I won't deny, I actually feel so angry and my blood literally boils. We just did a story where they killed an eight-month-old baby for fake family pride, and I actually got tears in my eyes. So it is emotionally very draining, but once the uniform is off, and Ankit Bathla comes back to life, I go back home, sit for meditation, and my only prayer is that we end crime, which is quite in sync with what Shiva Agnihotri wants in his life,” he said.
He also shared that playing a cop on-screen is very challenging for him because it comes with a lot of responsibility. “A lot of people are looking up to you. You can't be saying things that are not right, you can't be doing things that are not right, and there's also a certain protocol that the police officers follow,” he said.“We have gone through the training, which a part of the preparation for the character, and I think it is so extremely important to be fit because there's so much action that we do every day, so much running that we do every day, and this is probably the first time that I have been in the sun almost throughout the day, shooting, which has not been an easy experience, but I have learned it over time, and honestly, the pride that it gets when we wear the character on beats every bit of the trouble,” he added.
Ankit also shared how this role came to him and thanked Lord Shiva for it. He said, “I met producer Arjiya in a mock shoot where they wanted me to play a particular character for another show, but it didn't work out. During that time, I had just done Inner Engineering from Sadhguru and told her that I meditate and I'm a Shiva Sadhak, and that's when my character was born in her head, which I never knew, but she promised that we would do something together,” he said.
“So this character is called Shiva Agnihotri, it comes from a devotion to Shiva, and the USP of the character is that he meditates in solace, and that's when he gets all his visions and cracks the code, the case. So that's the birth of the character, and that's where the name Shiva comes from, and I can't thank enough to Arjiya and Charu for having me for this character because this has really enhanced my skills as an actor and also as a human being,” he concluded.

Parimal Bhattacharya on being part of Janani- AI ki Kahani: The show’s title is an interesting paradox

Actor Parimal Bhattacharya, who plays the role of Naresh Parmar in Mrinal Abhigyan Jha Productions’ Janani- AI Ki Kahani, says that he loves being part of the project. Parimal adds:“The title evokes curiosity of the viewers about the show. Janani relates to emotion and AI ki kahani connotes technology, thereby generating an interesting paradox,” he says.He adds, “I won't say content on Indian Television is in general very progressive; this is true for a few shows. Subject of our show is out of the box. Progressive part will depend on how we carry it further to match or surpass the expectations of progressive viewers.”
Talking about his character, he says, “I'm doing a henpecked husband, not still related with the central plot. He was supposed to be a businessman of good personality, afraid of his wife only. But has been shown as a meek and fearful person in scenes shot so far. I chose this over a historical show, since I found the story novel and the character, was supposed to have various shades.”
So, how much does he relate to his character, he says “The person I am, doesn't have anything in common with the character, but being a theatre actor, I would love to do various shades of the character, if it materialises.”
Is the AI wave is here to stay and 2024 is the year of AI, his response was “AI is just seeing its beginning, don't know what will be its final destination. All depends on the way it is used for the mankind. It may make the world heaven or may cause total destruction, as envisaged in the religious books. 2024 may not be the year of AI, since it's still in its formative stage.”
Talking about working with Abhigyan and Mrinal Jha, Parimal says, “I have done around 10-11 days of shoot with the script of Mrinal ji; family scenes aren't much related with the main storyline. So, can't say I've worked with Mrinal ji yet. Abhigyan ji personifies the meaning of his name; intelligent, wise and knowledgeable. I'm impressed by his storytelling ability thru' directorial inputs in shot taking, with special mention of his impromptu improvisations.”
