Union commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal said on Friday that India will not sign any trade agreement in haste or will reject conditions from partner countries that restrict its trading choices, amid ongoing trade talks with major partners, including the United States.Speaking at the Berlin Global Dialogue, he said,Trade deals are about trust about relationship. Goyal said India is open to discussions but not to deadlines. India will not be pressured into signing a trade deal with the United States, he said,

Earlier,Goyal met Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Xavier Bettel to review bilateral economic ties and explore new opportunities for trade and investment. “Both leaders discussed ways to enhance cooperation across key sectors and reviewed progress in economic relations between India and Luxembourg. They also exchanged views on regional and global developments and discussed the upcoming State Visit to India” said Ministry of Commerce & Industry in a statement.
