Kabul rocked by blasts, Afghan forces hit key Pakistani bases

In Afghanistan, multiple explosions were heard and gunfire reported in Kabul on Tuesday as Afghan and Pakistani troops continued border clashes. Blasts echoed across the capital alongside anti-aircraft fire, while Afghanistan’s defence ministry said fighting with Pakistani forces was ongoing. The neighbours have clashed along the frontier since Thursday, when Afghanistan launched a border offensive in response to Pakistani air strikes. The latest casualties include three children killed Monday in a "crime committed by the Pakistani military regime" in Kunar province, Afghan deputy government spokesman Hamdullah Fitrat said.
At least 39 civilians have been killed since Thursday, the Afghan government said, a toll which Pakistan has not commented on.The violence of recent days is the worst since October fighting killed more than 70 people on both sides, with land borders between the neighbours largely shut since.
Ministry of Defense of Afghanistan has claimed that, the ministry, the action was taken in response to Pakistani army airstrikes on Kabul and several other parts of the country. The ministry said Afghanistan’s air force targeted military bases in Rawalpindi, Quetta in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and other facilities, inflicting “significant damage” on these centers.Sediqullah Nusrat, deputy spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense said that   Afghan forces have so far captured eight security posts belonging to Pakistan’s military regime.According to him, five of the posts were seized in Kandahar, two in Khost, and one in Zabul, and clashes are still ongoing. Three Pakistani soldiers were killed and another was taken alive during the operation, said Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, Kabul has condemned the UN Security Council(UNSC).Spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid accused that the UNSC has lost its value. Mujahid said Afghanistan is currently facing aggression by Pakistan, with attacks being carried out against civilians and Afghan refugees in Pakistan facing numerous problems. He added that despite this, the Security Council continues to hold meetings on repetitive issues without producing any results.
Islamabad accuses Afghanistan of failing to act against militant groups that carry out attacks in Pakistan, which the Taliban government rejects. Afghanistan has consistently stated that the TTP and other groups are Pakistan’s internal issue and that it does not allow Afghan soil to be used against other countries.
