PM Modi inaugurates 'Samrat Samprati Museum' in Gandhinagar

PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the Samrat Samprati Museum at Koba in Gandhinagar during his visit to the state on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti. The inauguration marked the beginning of a day-long schedule focused on cultural, infrastructure, and industrial development initiatives across Gujarat.

Samrat Samprati Museum at Koba Tirth
The Samrat Samprati Museum, located at Koba Tirth within the Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra campus, is dedicated to Samrat Samprati, the grandson of Ashoka. The museum showcases the historical, cultural, and spiritual journey of Jainism through an extensive collection of rare relics, ancient manuscripts, Tirth Pattas, miniature paintings, and intricately designed stone and silver chariots.

The museum holds particular significance as it brings alive India’s rich Jain heritage and civilisational legacy through seven thematic wings, each offering a distinct perspective on the evolution of Jain philosophy and traditions. It stands as a major cultural addition aimed at preserving and promoting spiritual knowledge while enhancing Gujarat’s tourism and heritage landscape.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to inaugurate the country’s second semiconductor facility in Sanand at 12:45 PM, marking a key step in India’s push towards high-tech manufacturing. The plant will commence professional production following its inauguration, with the first such facility in the region having been launched in February 2026.The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for a wide array of development projects worth over ₹20,000 crore at around 4 PM in the Vav–Tharad region. A key highlight of this phase is the inauguration of the Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway, a high-speed, access-controlled corridor built at a cost of more than ₹5,100 crore, expected to significantly boost regional connectivity and economic activity.
