J'khand students march to Assembly, seek probe into exam irregularities

A large number of JPSC-JSSC aspirants marched towards the Jharkhand Assembly in Ranchi on Monday, intensifying their protest over alleged irregularities in government recruitment examinations.The protesters, under the banner of JPSC-JSSC Reform Manch, formed a human chain and staged a demonstration near the Vidhan Sabha. Their key demands include cancellation of the JSSC-CGL examination, a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities and reforms in the recruitment process.
The protesters said they would continue their agitation until the government addresses their demands. They also alleged that security personnel stopped vehicles carrying aspirants who were attempting to join the march.According to agency reports,one protester said the aspirants were prepared to remain at the spot until the barricades were removed and they were allowed to proceed towards the Assembly.

Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha MLA Jairam Kumar Mahato criticised the state government over the issue and said cancellation of the JSSC-CGL examination remained the protesters’ primary demand.Mahato alleged that the examination had witnessed widespread irregularities and referred to claims made by Abhay Tiwari regarding the selection of candidates.

Earlier on Monday, Jharkhand Assembly Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi and several BJP leaders were detained by state police during a protest outside Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s residence over alleged irregularities in JPSC and JSSC examinations.The aspirants have maintained that their demands, particularly cancellation of the JSSC-CGL examination, a CBI investigation and recruitment reforms, have not been fully accepted by the state government, keeping the agitation ongoing.
