6 pythons rescued from a house in Karnataka's Karwar

Six pythons measuring up to 12 feet in length were rescued from a residential property in Katinakona area of Karwar on Sunday, triggering panic among local residents.The reptiles were found amid piles of construction material stocked on the premises of a house, prompting residents to alert the Forest Department. The sudden sighting of multiple large snakes in a single location led to anxiety in the neighbourhood before authorities stepped in.
Forest Guard Gopal Naika, who led the rescue operation, said the six pythons measured between 8 and 12 feet in length. The reptiles were carefully captured and later released into a nearby forest area, away from human habitation.Explaining the unusual clustering, Naika said the early days of summer mark the mating season for snakes. “It is natural for males of the species to come in search of females for mating. Hence they are found in large numbers in one location,” he said.Forest officials reassured residents that such sightings are seasonal and urged the public not to panic but to inform authorities in case of similar incidents.
