In Madhya Pradesh, BJP and Congress leaders are making allegations and counter allegations against each others. Amid a row brewing over his tweet linked to the clashes in Madhya Pradesh on Ram Navami, The former chief minister Digvijay Singh has been facing criticism from rivals over the post and the controversial image that was used. Madhya Pradesh witnessed violence in two districts- Khargone and Sendhwa- on Sunday as Ram Navami processions were carried out. Digvijaya Singh filed a complaint against MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He accused Chouhan of posting a "forged video" of Rahul Gandhi's Mandsaur rally on May 16, 2019, which gave the impression that the former Congress president had referred to Bhupesh Baghel as the MP CM.  In a letter addressed to the Bhopal Police Commissioner on Tuesday, Singh demanded an FIR be filed against Chouhan under relevant sections of IPC and the IT Act for indulging in a "criminal conspiracy". Moreover, he argued that the law of the land should be applied equally to every person in the state.

Singh on Wednesday deleted the post only because ‘the picture was not of Khargone. A relentless Singh, however, said that he won’t stop raising questions against ‘communalism’ even if one lakh FIRs were filed against him. “Even if one lakh FIRs are registered against me for speaking against communal hysteria, I will not regret speaking up,” he was quoted as saying. Digvijay Singh’s tweet caused ‘tension in Madhya Pradesh throughout the day Tuesday’, Madhya Pradesh minister Vishwas Sarang said. "I wrote a letter to Twitter asking to block Digvijay Singh's Twitter account,” he told news agency. Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also attacked Singh. He said, “Former chief minister Digvijay Singh wants to spread tension in the state. He is conspiring to throw the state in the fire of riots. It will not be tolerated.”
