Congress chief Kharge slams PM Modi

BJP and Congress are busy in a political slugfest.Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swipe at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge over for poll guarantees has triggered war of words, with the Congress hitting back at the ruling party alleging that "B" in the BJP stands for "betrayal", while "J"stands for "jumla".Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday said “lies, deceit, fraud, loot and publicity” are the five adjectives that best define the BJP government at the centre.In a post on X, Kharge claimed, "Your drumbeating regarding a 100-day plan was a cheap PR stunt! On May 16, 2024, you also claimed that you took inputs from more than 20 lakh people for the road map for 2047. RTI filed in PMO declined to put forth details, exposing your LIES!.”

Modi launched a fierce attack on the Opposition party as he seized on Mallikarjun Kharge's comments that the Congress's state units should make promises that are properly budgeted.The prime minister also said the developmental trajectory and fiscal health in the Congress-ruled states of Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana is going from bad to worse.

Responding to the Prime Minister, Venugopal wrote on X: "The uncrowned champion of puffery, misdirection and unfulfilled promises has the audacity to question Congress’ unparalleled track record of delivering welfare. Where are the Ache Din, Mr. Modi? Where is the Amrit Kaal? What happened to delivering housing for all by 2022, 100 smart cities, or the many lies you told the people about the benefits of demonetisation? The senior Congress leader added that unlike the "BJP's election gimmicks, ours is a welfare model that has stood the test of time since independence"."Insincere, vengeful and non-performing leaders have no right to create doubt over our governance," he added.
