Karnataka Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, along with other party MLAs from Karnataka staged a protest against the central government's tax devolution policies in Delhi's Jantar Mantar on Wednesday.According to the party statement, this was not a political protest by the Congress Party against the BJP, but a protest by the entire state to highlight unfair treatment by the Modi Government. Siddaramaiah accused the Centre of indulging in economic oppression of Karnataka.The protesters demanded that the Centre set right the losses to the tune of Rs 1.87 lakh crore allegedly incurred by Karnataka under the 15th Finance Commission. Siddaramaiah said the protest was not against the BJP but the discrimination against Karnataka.
On the other hand, BJP Karnataka MPs hold protest in front of the Gandhi statue in Parliament over the alleged misuse of funds by the Karnataka government.

In Bengaluru, meanwhile, BJP legislators protested in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue on the Vidhana Soudha premises against the state government’s failure in tackling drought.BJP parliamentary board member BS Yediyurappa told reporters that the Congress government had failed to tackle drought and drinking water issues.Calling the Delhi protest a “big drama”, Yediyurappa said that Siddaramaiah had taken all Congress legislators to Delhi to hide their failures. “They should think to what extent this was right” he said.
