Myths about papaya, kiwi in case of dengue

Increasing platelet count is often a concern for people with conditions such as dengue fever, thrombocytopenia, or those undergoing treatments like chemotherapy. Various foods and remedies have been suggested to boost platelet count, but it's essential to differentiate between scientifically supported information and myths. Here are the myths related to papaya seeds, goat milk, and kiwi.
Papaya Seeds:
Myth: Consuming papaya seeds can help increase the platelet count.
Fact: While there are some anecdotal reports and a few preliminary studies suggesting that the papaya leaf extract can help improve platelet counts, especially in dengue patients, it's the leaf extract, not the seeds, that have been examined. The effectiveness and safety of papaya leaf extract are still under investigation, and more rigorous scientific studies are needed to establish the claims.
Goat Milk:
Myth: Drinking goat milk can help in increasing the platelet count.
Fact: There is no scientific evidence to support the claim that goat milk can increase platelet count. However, goat milk is rich in many essential nutrients and can be a nutritious addition to the diet. Still, it's not a specific remedy for increasing platelets.
Kiwi:
Myth: Eating kiwi can help boost the platelet count.
Fact: Kiwi is a fruit rich in vitamin C and other antioxidants, which can support overall immune function. While a healthy immune system is crucial for overall health, there's no direct scientific evidence to suggest that consuming kiwi will specifically increase platelet counts.
