Left Handers also have a day, "International Left Handers Day" recognises all those individuals who have mastered using their left hand in a right-handed  dominants. International Left Handers Day is globally observed  on August 13 every year to celebrate the uniqueness and differences of the left handers. The day was first observed in 1976 by Dean R. Campbell. He was the founder of the Lefthanders International.
Approximately 10% of the population are southpaws. And men are more likely to be left handed than women. Scientists are yet to find out the reason as to  why a person develops left-handedness. But it’s more likely a child will be left-handed if one parent is a lefty, too. Parents of left-handed children used to force them to use their right hands. In the eyes of right-handers, the predominant use of the left hand seemed evil. Long back ago, parents feared  that their communities would shun their children. While we accept left-handedness more readily than days gone by, its occurrence has not increased.   
Famous Cartoonist Joe Wos, founder of mazetoons, and being a lefty himself, states that his favourite day to celebrate is International Left Handers Day. Many lefties seek to mix in because they will stand out soon enough. Their unique quality makes them feel uncomfortable. However, in a world dominated by the right-handed, those who are other dominant adapt quite well.  
Left Handers Day recognises the uncommon individual who throws, catches, writes, and uses a fork with their left-hand. They view the world just a little differently.  Lefties square off against righties many time.
Among the Indians... the club of lefthanders led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi includes famous industrialist Ratan Tata, living legend cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, former Team India captain Saurabh Ganguly,  Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek Bachchan, South super star Rajinikanth, popular singer Asha Bhosle, Olympic medalist Boxer Mary Com and many more. 
Many of us may not be aware about the World's First Museum for Lefties. And you will be surprised to know that  it  is in Goa. This Museum is one of the unique creation of the world which  contains bronze bust of 100 successful left handed celebrities & interesting facts about their life. Besides the Indian lefties as mentioned earlier, this museum has also the busts of Argentine World Cup champ footballer Diego Maradona, famous comedian Charlie Chaplin, former US President Barack Obama and Hollywood actress Marlyne Monroe etc.So on the Day of International Left Handers....Let us hats off to them for their extraordinary talent!!.
