There is a special significance of every day in Durga Puja and every day belongs to a Goddess. In the 9 days of Navratri, 9 forms of Maa Durga will be worshipped. Mahagauri Mata will be worshiped on October 3, Ashtami.
Mahagauri Shakti is worshiped on the eighth day of Navratri. This form of Mother is the complete form of Gauri.
How to pray mother?
Imagine the image of a mother with 4 arm and vehicle is Taurus. Her upper right hand is abhaya mudra and his lower hand holds the trident. In the upper left hand she is holding a damru and in the lower left hand is the Vara Mudra.  Mother Mahagauri had done severe penance to get Shiva as her husband. Due to this reason her body turned black.Pleased with this, the Lord washed her body with Ganga water and made her beautiful.
