Vibrant Gujarat 2027 curtain raiser focuses on investment, growth

The Curtain Raiser for the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit(VGGS) 2027 was held in New Delhi on Monday, bringing together industry leaders, investors and senior government officials ahead of the flagship investment summit scheduled for January 10-12, 2027.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi addressed industry leaders at Bharat Mandapam and interacted with Heads of Missions and senior officials from the Government of India during the event.The summit will focus on strengthening Gujarat’s position as a key destination for investment across sectors including renewable energy, automobiles, semiconductors and electronics, infrastructure, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, railways, artificial intelligence and data centres, IT and BPM, chemicals and BFSI.
While addressing the gathering Chief Minister BhupendraPatel said Gujarat was ready to contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Sapt Dhara’ vision for India’s future development, covering manufacturing, agriculture and food production, technology and innovation, Gati Shakti, defence, the green and blue economy, and soft power.He said Vibrant Gujarat 2027 would bring together the state’s strengths across these seven areas and accelerate the implementation of the vision.


Sanghavi invited investors to explore opportunities in Gujarat, highlighting platforms such as Dholera, Sanand and GIFT City. He also underlined the state’s investor-friendly policies and assured businesses of a secure environment for their investments.


Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya highlighted Gujarat’s long-standing ability to adapt to changing times and remain future-ready, citing its entrepreneurial spirit and business-oriented outlook.Industry leaders at the curtain raiser also highlighted Gujarat’s infrastructure, investor-friendly policies and faster decision-making as key factors behind its growing attractiveness as an investment destination.

ASSOCHAM President Nirmal Kumar Minda said Vibrant Gujarat had evolved beyond an investment summit into an economic platform connecting investors from India and across the world with the state. He also pointed to growing opportunities in semiconductors, artificial intelligence and automobiles.
DCM Shriram Chairman Ajay S Shriram said the summit had helped establish Gujarat firmly on the global investment map. He said the company had invested around Rs 5,000 crore in the state over the past three-and-a-half years and was looking to invest another Rs 8,000-10,000 crore over the next four to five years.Tata Power CEO Sanjay Banga highlighted the company’s long-standing association with Gujarat, including its 4,000-MW Mundra project and renewable energy investments in the state.
During the event, Patel also held one-on-one meetings with representatives of leading companies across sectors, focusing on investment opportunities, expansion plans and strategic partnerships.

The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027 will be held from January 10 to 12 and is expected to showcase investment opportunities across emerging and established sectors while promoting Gujarat as a hub for sustainable and technology-led growth.
