On the second day of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC), a seminar organized by the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd. (TCGL) was held on Friday at Ganpat University, Mehsana, with the objective of positioning Gujarat as the Adventure Tourism Hub of India. The event highlighted opportunities in the state’s tourism sector and its potential for growth and investment.Speaking at the seminar, Suman Billa, Additional Secretary and Director General of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, emphasized the importance of Adventure Tourism and national safety standards. He said the Union Government is providing guidance to boost Gujarat’s tourism while prioritizing safety and quality. Billa stressed connecting Gujarat’s ancient cultural heritage and diverse terrain to adventure tourism initiatives.

Anna Roy, Program Director and Principal Economic Advisor of NITI Aayog, highlighted the need to enhance facilities for tourists visiting Gujarat. She mentioned plans to promote Business Tourism in cities such as Surat and Bhubaneswar and stressed that transport, connectivity, and long-term planning are essential for the sector’s development. She also noted special efforts to promote eco-tourism and environmentally sustainable tourism projects.In his welcome address, Prabhav Joshi, Commissioner and M.D. of TCGL, outlined Gujarat’s ongoing tourism initiatives and investment opportunities. “By leveraging Gujarat’s potential for Adventure Tourism, we can attract international tourists,” he said. He also presented projects and a short film showcasing the state’s tourism strengths, alongside information on MoU exchanges facilitated through TCGL.The seminar further included B2B meetings, trade shows, and cultural events, focusing on connectivity, eco-friendly development, and business tourism. The conference aims to boost industrial and tourism development in North Gujarat districts, contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
