The Uttar Pradesh government has declared 34 districts coronavirus-free. An official spokesman said in Lucknow that there is no active case in 34 of the total 75 districts of the state. Additionally, no new case was found in 65 districts during testing in the past 24 hours. According to the health department during the last 24 hours more than 2 lakh 17 thousand Covid19 samples were tested and only 14 new cases of Corona were detected in 10 districts. Not a single new case of Covid-19 was found in 65 districts in Covid testing. As of now more than 7 crore 47 lakh Covid samples have been tested in state. The number of active cases of Covid in state has also reduced to 184. An official spokesperson said that Covid vaccination work is going according to centre’s instructions in state and 48% population eligible for Covid vaccination has got first dose. A Total more than 8 crore 62 lakh vaccines of covid-19 have been administered in state.UP's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98.7%.
Meanwhile, the state's Firozabad district is reeling from dengue infections. The death toll due to viral fever and dengue rose to 58 and over 100 new patients were hospitalised on Saturday. According to information Firozabad has been battling an outbreak of dengue and deadly viral fever for the past three weeks now, with most of the victims being children. Some cases have also been found in neighbouring Mathura, Agra and Mainpuri. At least 16 confirmed cases of dengue were detected in Agra on Saturday.
States and UTs that have less than 200 active Covid cases at present are--Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Bihar, Chandigarh, Dadar, and Nagar Haveli, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Ladakh, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
