Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s growing global trade and investment opportunities, saying the state’s entrepreneurs will benefit from expanding market access through Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
Addressing the UP International Trade Show in Greater Noida, Goyal said increased exports, investments and global market access would support Uttar Pradesh’s goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy.He said Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a preferred investment destination, supported by industrial policies, infrastructure and proactive schemes. New investments from global companies across sectors are also expected to generate employment opportunities.

Goyal highlighted the state’s growing presence in defence, semiconductors, electronics and other high-technology sectors, supported by expressways, modern airports and industrial parks.He also underlined the importance of the UP International Trade Show, which has attracted six partner countries, hundreds of delegates and exhibitors, along with buyer-seller meetings aimed at connecting local businesses with global markets.
Goyal said Uttar Pradesh currently records annual exports of around Rs2 lakh crore and has set a target of increasing this to Rs5 lakh crore by 2030.He said expanding exports, attracting foreign investment, promoting tourism and building global recognition for products and brands would create new opportunities for the state’s entrepreneurs.Goyal also stressed coordination between the Centre and state governments, along with the participation of youth, citizens and trade and industry stakeholders, to support Uttar Pradesh’s economic and export growth.
