Uttar Pradesh created a record by administering more than 22 lakh doses of covid vaccine in a single day. State achieved this target in a mega vaccination drive which was launched on Tuesday till 7.00 pm and the numbers are still counting. With this Uttar Pradesh has also became the first state in the country to administer more than 5 crore covid vaccines. Additional chief secretary health Amit Mohan Prasad said that cluster approach for the vaccination drive resulted in the high number of of vaccination.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated people of state for the achievement and thanked central government for its support in mega vaccination drive. He said that covid vaccination is the only security cover for the infection and everyone must take it. The UP chief minister urged people to get vaccinated against the deadly coronavirus terming the vaccines as 'Suraksha Kavach'. The Adityanath Cabinet has approved a proposal to provide financial assistance of Rs 2,500 per month to children below 18 years who lost their parents due to reasons other than COVID-19.

Meanwhile, India’s cumulative COVID vaccination coverage crossed 48 crore landmark milestone (48,41,81,676), as per the 7 pm provisional report on Tuesday, the Union ministry of health and family welfare said.
