Russia has slammed the West for double standard on human rights. According to foreign minister Sergey Lavrov, 'Have you ever heard Western leaders say Zelensky should uphold human rights? Yet when it’s Russia, China, Venezuela, Iran—even Hungary—human rights top their complaints list.’ He alleged that the British are 100% helping Ukraine carry out terrorist attacks on Russia. Criticising the UN, Lavrov said, UN Charter principles must be universal, it's not a restaurant menu.' The Russian FM pointed to Kosovo as a prime example, saying it was 'torn away from Serbia' under the pretext of self-determination — without any referendum.

Addressing the Forum of the Future 2050 in Moscow on Monday, Lavrov pointed to the crisis and collapse within the North Atlantic Treaty Organization(NATO)and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, which were supposed to ensure security in Eurasia. NATO is in an extremely deep crisis, he said. However, he added, NATO and EU later "succumbed to Euro-Atlanticism", adopting a hostile stance toward Russia.
