US President Donald Trump said that Europe was not heading in the right direction. Trump launched the fresh salvo at Europe while addressing a World Economic Forum session in Davos on Wednesday. He added that while he wanted Europe to progress, that seems not to be happening. He said that Greenland lies in a “key strategic location” between the US, Russia and China. The US President said America needs the island territory not owing to its minerals but for “strategic national and international security.”

Thrump called Denmark “ungrateful”, while saying the US was “stupid” to “give Greenland back” after the Second World War.We set up bases in Greenland for Denmark. We fought for Denmark. We saved Greenland and prevented our enemies from gaining a foothold in our hemisphere. Denmark had “fallen to Germany” and was “unable to defend itself and Greenland.” “US was compelled to send its own forces to hold that territory at great cost and expense. Denmark knows that,” the US President said.
