A tiger from the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan strayed out of the forest and reached the vicinity of a five-star hotel early Sunday, forest officials said.The big cat was first caught on a camera installed near a farmhouse around 4.30 am. It later moved towards the hotel area through the Amreshwar locality, they said.
Local residents alerted the forest department after spotting the animal, prompting officials to rush to the area and verify the tiger’s presence through pugmarks.According to forest department officials, the tiger’s movement is currently being monitored in the department’s nursery area nearby.A special team has been formed to track the animal’s movement and ensure the safety of residents and visitors, the officials said.The forest department has also issued an advisory asking local residents to remain alert and immediately inform authorities if they notice any movement of the tiger in the area.
