Telangana:Film stars slam Minister's Naga-Samantha divorce remark

In Telangana, the ruling party minister's reported remark about a separation between actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu has taken a political twist.Actor A Nagarjuna has filed a defamation suit against Telangana State Minister K. Surekha at the Nampally court in Hyderabad. His wife Amala Akkineni, wrote to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, asking him to restrain politicians from his party from making derogatory comments and demanding an apology from Telangana minister Konda Surekha for her remarks. In a post on her official Instagram account,Amala Akkineni wrote,“I am shocked to see a woman minister behave like a demon, fabricating false allegations and targeting decent citizens as fodder for a political battle.”  "Rahul Gandhiji, if you believe in human decency, please restrain your politicians and make your minister retract her venomous statements with an apology to my family. Protect the citizens of this country,” she said.Konda Surekha faced criticism after linking Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao for the separation between actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw hit out at Telangana minister Konda Surekha for her remarks on the divorce of actors Samantha Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya, calling them appalling and accused the Congress of having an anti-woman mindset. In a tweet, Ashwini Vaishnaw questioned the "silence" of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and the party's top leadership over the incident and said the BJP viewed the film industry as the pride of the country.
Actor Ram Charan also slammed Telangana Minister Konda Surekha for her remarks linking Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao with the divorce of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Ram Charan said the film industry stands together and won't tolerate such "reckless behaviour" aimed at them.
"The statements made by Konda Surekha garu are irresponsible and baseless. Making vulgar public comments about respected individuals is shocking, especially coming from an elected leader who holds public office. This kind of slander aims to destroy the fundamentals of our society.," he said in a statement posted on X.Several cine personalities such as Chiranjeevi, junior NTR, Mahesh Babu, and Vijay Devarakonda also hit out at the minister, who withdrew her remarks on Thursday after a massive uproar.
Samantha also reacted to the remarks and said that her divorce was a “personal matter”. Both actors also released separate statements, calling the remarks "absolutely ridiculous" and asking the minister to be "responsible and respectful of individuals' privacy".
Speaking to mediapersons, Ms Surekha said she had to take the names of the actors after she became emotional over the comments made by the KTR, the BRS' working president, about her. "I had to criticise him (Rama Rao). I do not have any personal animosity towards anyone. Taking the name of a family was inadvertent. I felt really bad after seeing her Samantha's post," she said.
