Chief Minister, ministers and people's representatives have not paaricipated in the governor's programmeheld at RajBhawan on Thursday Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao unfurled the national flag on the occasion of 74th Republic Day celebrations held at Pragathi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Thursday. He paid floral tributes to the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr B R Ambedkar on the occasion and remembered their contribution for the nation building.Ministers Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Satyavathi Rathod, Ch. Mallaredy, MLCs Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, S Madhusudhanachari, Naveen Rao, Shambhipur Raju, Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari, DGP Anjani Kumar and other senior officials of the Chief Minister’s Office and elected representatives attended the celebrations.
Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan hoisted the national flag at Republic day celebrations organised by the State government at Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad. The celebrations were held with ceremonial grandeur, gaiety and patriotic fervour, in a befitting manner with the police contingents conducting the parade. Delivering the Republic Day address, the Governor said the Indian Constitution, which was the largest in the world, was a result of contributions from several intellectuals and eminent persons. She said Dr B R Amebdkar and other architects of the Constitution displayed great dedication in preparing it with a vision for the nation’s development. The Telangana High Court directed the KCR-led Government to conduct the Republic Day celebrations in the state. The High Court issued an interim order on Wednesday and made it clear that the celebrations must be held by the Government officially. A Bench headed by Justice P Madhavi Devi in her observations rapped the State Government for using COVID-19 as an excuse to not conduct the event. The state had initially scrapped the customary parade for a second year citing Covid.
