President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people of Telangana on the 10th State Formation Day while state Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Union Minister for Tourism G Kishan Reddy separately hoisted the national flag on the occasion in Hyderabad. Telangana was carved out of Andhra Pradesh following a decades-long agitation and accorded statehood on this day in 2014. President Murmu greeted the people of Telangana on its statehood day and said the beautiful state is emerging as a hub of innovation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted people of Telangana on State Formation Day. In a tweet, Modi said, the skills of people of Telangana and the richness of its culture are greatly admired. He prayed for the well-being and prosperity of Telangana.
Union Tourism and Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy hoisted the national flag at Golkonda fort in Hyderabad on the occasion The Union Ministry of Culture is holding two-day celebrations on the occasion at the historic Golkonda Fort .Addressing the gathering after the flag hoisting, Reddy said everyone should remember the role played by former Union minister and then opposition leader in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj in creation of Telangana state. Telangana was a result of a unified struggle of all the people of the state, the Union minister added.

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday took the salute from police contingents at a colourful ceremony held at the newly-constructed state secretariat. Being at the vanguard of the new phase development, Telangana has the best practices put in place to serve as the growth propellers and exceptional results achieved by it in nine years would serve as a bench mark of growth for rest of India, said the Chief Minister. He unfurled the tricolour at the Dr B R Ambedkar Secretariat complex after paying floral tributes to the Telangana Martyrs at Gun Park in Hyderabad as the decennial celebrations of the Telangana State Formation Day was off to a colourful start.
“My best wishes to all the people on the auspicious occasion of the 10th Telangana State Formation day. Let us celebrate the history of 60 years of struggle and ten years of progress of Telangana which we dreamed of and fought for,” Chief Minister Rao said. It is a historic achievement that Telangana has overcome ambiguities and hurdles to become the most formidable economic power in the country, Rao further said narrating the state’s achievements over the past nine years.

The state government courted controversy by not inviting Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan, with whom it has a prickly relationship, for the Telangana State Formation Day celebration on Friday. The state government has not invited the Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan for the formation Day celebrations according to Rajbhavan.

The governor however participated in the Telangana Foundation Day celebrations held at Raj Bhavan and addressed the gathering. She said Telangana was progressing in many fields. She said the oft quoted words 'Neellu Nidhulu Niyamakalu' is not a mere slogan. It is a symbol of self respect of the people of the state. She aspired that fruits of development should reach every nook and corner of the state..
