Child actor Swarnim Neema has already proved his acting prowess in the mythological show Shiv Shakti: Tap Tyaag Taandav. However, his Instagram pade is testimony to the fact that he is a fabulous dancer as well. Talking about how his dancing journey began, he says, “When I was 5 years old, I performed a Shiv Stuti and played the lead role of Shiv in a local Indore dance competition, which I won. At the age of nine, I participated in a school competition where I performed Ganesh Vandana and also took part in a Radha Krishna Dance, winning the first prize in both. I portrayed the lead characters of Ganesh and Krishna in those performances as well. There was no looking back after these victories; I knew dance was my calling.”
Ask him if he has trained in dancing, and he says, “I did take training, but that was only for four months. I think dance is inbuilt in me and, right from the beginning, dance has come very naturally to me. I love to dance, and so I choreograph myself as well. At times, I take help from my brother, who is also a fabulous dancer.”
The fact that he doesn’t have dancing sequences in Shiv Shakti, does not bother him, says the actor, adding, “For me, there is no relationship between dance and any kind of show, be it a mythological show, or a regular one, because they both are different topics. But whenever I get time, I make reels of every current Bollywood song, and post it on social media. Whenever I get a little time between my shoots of Shiv Shakti, I use it to make dance reels.”
Ask him who is his favourite dancer in Bollywood, and prompt comes the reply, “Hrithik Roshan! He is my favourite dancer because of the perfection he displays in his steps and expression. Everything is amazing. No one can match his level. He is very dashing, iconic and good looking. I get a lot of inspiration from him and sometimes I get comments as well that I look like Hrithik Roshan when I dance.”
Meanwhile, his Insta fans love the reels he puts up. “I have got some very amazing responses for my dance. I get so many good comments like, ‘excellent’, ‘wow’, ‘amazing’, and these fill me with joy. Many times, I have gotten standing ovations and awards as well. I want to do a dance-based-reality show, and I will take it up in a jiffy as soon as it is offered to me. I auditioned for Sabse Badha Kalakar, where I performed a number where I mixed dance with acting and I got selected for the show. There would be nothing better than the chance to take my dancing skills to a different level. I will do it for sure,” he says.
Somy Ali on starting NGO: Saving lives meant saving me from my unfortunate trauma

Growing up in a tough environment, and then facing innumerable challenges and setbacks in her Bollywood career and personal life, actress Somy Ali credits her NGO, No More Tears, as her saviour. As she tirelessly helps save and rehabilitate victims of domestic abuse and rape, Somy says that her NGO has helped her grow as a human being.
““My attitude in life has been that when someone says you are worthless and are nothing without me, which someone, who was supposed to love and care for me, did say to me repeatedly; I use that rage to do good rather than wallow in self pity. Trust me, I did wallow and it didn't help one bit. However, with my NGO, I realised that saving lives was saving me from my unfortunate trauma and experiences. This is why I deem what I do to be extremely selfish as it makes me happy and brings me joy. There is no altruism in social work and I am not a saint in any way because one has to have that specific trait in them to be able to see and witness the worst of humanity every single day. My job is to fix damaged people and broken children. It's draining, yet immensely gratifying and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world,” she says.
Working with victims of domestic abuse and rape can be psychologically devastating, but she makes sure to keep her mental health in check, says Somy. “I would have to be a robot if I said that it doesn't impact me psychologically because the things I see would disturb any person trained or not mentally. However, we have therapists for the work I do and the effect it has on my psyche. I talk to a psychologist twice a week online about anything and everything which has really helped me cope with the work I do daily. I use the rage and fire in me as fuel to continue doing what I have been for 17 years now. That's the only way to get by or else anyone would break down and quit,” she says.
Talking about the most significant milestones or turning points that she has encountered while leading No More Tears, she says, “The first one was in 2011 when the very first victim obtained her Ph.D through NMT's help. There are so many other rewards that come from our work, but it's always the first born that a mother cherishes a great deal. Hence, for me, it is the first victim we transformed into a survivor which matters greatly to us as an NGO. Rescuing children who are about to be trafficked or were trafficked and seeing them doing well is an emotion that is very difficult to put into words. I remember when we rescued our 100th victim and one of the local channels did a news story on our NGO and the victim because she had by that time become a lawyer through NMT's help. It's all simply priceless and definitely a road less travelled. But I am at my happiest when I am going down that path knowing it will lead me to a gratifying destination.”
I think patience and destiny work for you: Mrunal Jain

There are those who instantly attain stardom in showbiz and then there are those who don’t have to mettle to perform well. But there are also some actors who are brilliant but haven’t got the recognition they deserve and actor Mrunal Jain is one of these.“There are so many talented actors who never get work or never get appreciated for their work. I have been one of these unfortunate people who has never got an appreciation for my work. However, I have always got more work. If people feel like I am not talented then why are they giving me work? I really appreciate the fact that they consider and see that talent in me. However, for any actor recognition is equally important and I hope I get that soon as well. It breaks my heart to not be counted amongst the most popular actors of TV since I have a huge body of great work behind me,” says Mrunal, who has been seen in shows such as Bandini, Hitler Didi, and Uttaran.
The actor says that people don’t forget his work easily. “People remember me for my role and that is important. Even if you can make an impact in a show, that is more than enough. However, I feel that to really be retained in the audience’s minds, you need to have a popularity quotient as well,” he says.
Talking about the secret to being successful in the industry, he says, “I think patience and destiny work for you when you wait for something right to happen and something that does not work out which means some other good has to happen. I think luck will always play part in your life and it is indirectly dependent on your talent and the hard work and what is your approach towards work.”
The actor has done films such as Sab Kushal Mangal and Sooryavanshi, however, he says that he will give these as much importance as he gives his TV projects. “First of all, I really hate this discrimination between TV actors and film actors. TV actors have to be taken seriously and I think both are great platforms for an artist to perform. I will give my100% on T.V also as well as films,” he says.

So as soon as they approached me for this series I was super excited. Not only for the experience but also the fact that I would be getting details of the events that was unavailable before.” Jason, who is also a trained dancer, shares his take on the changed dynamics of entertainment post COVID era. He says,”OTT platforms have really changed the dynamics of entertainment. I feel people and the industry have become more acceptable to anything provided the content is good and relatable. And we can all see the industry evolving from slapstick comedy to straight face sarcasms , from loud emotions to interpersonal feels. We have all evolved along the way. The platforms have given all of us a great opportunity to tell more variety of stories which are more relatable and real.”
