In Jharkhand the political activities gained momentum following the report of the recommendation of Election Commission to disqualify the Chief Minister Hemant Soren on office of profit issue .The EC has submitted it's report to Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais recommending disqualification of membership of Hemant Soren on the charges of corrupt practices. According to legal experts Soren may be disqualified to fight elections for three years . The Jharkhand Governor has reached Ranchi. .The Election Commission of India has submitted its report to Governor of Jharkhand Ramesh Bais against Chief Minister Hemant Soren for obtaining stone mining lease. Sources said that the sealed report sent by the Election Commission will be opened only after the Governor returns to Ranchi. evening. Earlier, in February, a delegation of BJP leaders had met the Governor and demanded that Chief Minister Hemant Soren should be disqualified for obtaining stone mining lease under Article 191(e) of the Constitution of India as well as Section 9(a) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. Following this complaint by BJP leaders, the Governor had sought the advice of the Election Commission under Article 192 of the Constitution.Sources said that the ECI has reportedly recommended disqualification of chief minister Hemant Soren from the assembly. The ECI recommendation is keenly awaited by ruling UPA alliance as well as opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as it could have political ramifications for the UPA government in Jharkhand. Meanwhile, reacting to the reports, the chief minister’s office released a statement saying they have received no communication form either the ECI or Governor.
