In Madhya Pradesh. at least four people were killed on the tracks after being run over by a train in Morena district on Sunday. According to information, the accident took place near Hetampur railway station in the Jhansi Division of the North Central Railway. The passengers had stepped off Train No. 19665 Khajuraho-Udaipur Express after it came to a halt at around 4.15 pm, when they were struck by an oncoming express train on an adjacent track. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, while rescue and relief operations are underway.The four reportedly got off the train after rumours of a fire in the locomotive.
As per reports, several passengers moved onto an adjacent track while the train was halted. During this time, Train No. 20424 Firozpur-Seoni Patalkot Express, which was approaching on the up line, reportedly struck some of them, resulting in fatalities and injuries.
Railway authorities said a detailed investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances that led to the accident. The North Central Railway also appealed to passengers not to get off trains without permission, whether the train is moving or stationary, and to follow all railway safety rules
