The domestic share market ended with moderate gains on Friday, led by value buying after the sharp decline in the previous session.Buying interest in select domestic focused sectors helped the benchmarks close higher despite weakness in technology and pharmaceutical. However uncertainty around US-Iran talks continued to weigh on investor sentiment. At close the Sensex was up 315.20 points or 0.43% to 73,895.74, while the Nifty index added 77.40 points or 0.34% to 23,140.50.

Axis Bank, M&M and Asian Paints were the top gainers on the Nifty, while losers included Max Healthcare, Tata Motors PV and Infosys.On the sectoral front, banks, metal and realty stocks were seeing buying interest, while IT and pharma stocks lagged behind. In the boader market, the BSE 150 MidCap Index declined 0.25% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index shed 0.01%.
Rupee Close:
On 25 Sep'26,the Indian rupee appreciated 19 paise to close at 95.80 (provisional) against the US dollar on Friday, holding above the 96-mark, on improved global risk sentiment and possible intervention by the Reserve Bank.Forex traders said gains in the rupee were capped by US dollar demand from local importers, high crude prices and a stronger greenback driven by hawkish Federal Reserve signals.
