The domestic share market ended on a weak note on Thursday,amid selling in metal and bank shares that weighed on market sentiment.At close the Sensex was down 539.35 points or 0.70% to 76,933.59,while Nifty closed at 24,090.85, down 116.90 points or 0.48%.
Kotak Mahindra Bank, Adani Enterprises, Bharat Electronics, Cipla and Adani Ports were the top gainers on the Nifty while losers included Hindalco Industries, HDFC Bank, M&M, HCL Technologies, Shriram Finance.On the sectoral front,Consumer Durables and Pharma up nearly 1% each, while media, metal, oil & gas, PSU Bank, auto, FMCG down 0.4-0.9%.The broader market outperformed the benchmark indices, with Nifty midcap and smallcap indices ended with marginal losses.
Rupee Close:
On 27 Aug'26,the Indian rupee ended 13 paise lower to close at Rs 95.54 against the US on Thursday , according to agency reports.
