Scindia honours telecom innovators at Excellence Awards

Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya M. Scindia on Wednesday conferred the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Telecom Excellence Awards 2025 on two organisations in recognition of their outstanding contributions to telecom technology and innovation.The award recipients were Amantya Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Finaara, which were honoured for their significant achievements in advancing India's telecom ecosystem,according to agency reports.
Union Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Department of Telecommunications (DoT) Secretary Amit Agrawal, and other senior officials and dignitaries were present at the award ceremony.Congratulating the winners, Scindia lauded their contributions to the telecom sector and said the prestigious awards recognise organisations that are driving innovation and strengthening India's rapidly evolving digital communications landscape.
The Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Telecom Excellence Awards are instituted by the Department of Telecommunications under the Ministry of Communications to encourage innovation, promote excellence and strengthen the country's telecom skill ecosystem. The awards are presented annually to individuals and institutions for exemplary contributions across a wide range of areas, including telecom innovation, telecom skilling, telecom services, telecom manufacturing and telecom applications.The awards also recognise the deployment of telecom-enabled solutions in sectors such as agriculture, commerce, healthcare, education and other areas that leverage digital communication technologies to improve public services and economic development.The selection process for the awards is conducted through the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal, which accepts nominations from Indian citizens as well as institutions registered in the country. The portal is managed by the Director General, Awards, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, ensuring a transparent and inclusive nomination process.The annual awards aim to inspire innovators, researchers, startups and institutions to contribute towards India's vision of building a robust, self-reliant and globally competitive telecom ecosystem while accelerating digital transformation across sectors.
