In Gujarat, the flood situation has slightly improved after the decrease in the rainfall in the state but the situation in Vadodara and some other parts of the state are still reeling under a flood-like situation due to overflowing rivers is still alarming. The state is grappling with severe floods.The death toll in Gujarat due to rain-related incidents has risen to 28, after days of incessant downpours and waterlogging have led to a flood-like situation across the state. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited the flood-affected regions of Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka on Thursday and reviewed the current flood situation in the rain-affected areas. He also conducted an aerial survey of flood-hit regions of Jamnagar. Khambhaliya recorded the highest rainfall in the state over the past five days, with 944 mm. Chief Minister Patel reviewed the ongoing rescue and relief operations with district officials.

Relief and rescue work is continuing on the third consecutive day in Jamnagar,Kutch, Rajkot and Porbandar and other flood-affected districts. Following the massive floods in Vadodara city, normal life is being restored gradually however several areas of the city are still underwater and relief and rescue operations are on. Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi informed that the water distribution system which was also severely affected has almost been restored.Over 100 electricity feeders were damaged due to heavy floods in the city. The Minister informed that the power supply in the city will be fully restored by Friday.
The India Meteorological Department has predicted that a cyclonic storm will develop off the coast of Gujarat on August 30, intensifying from the deep depression currently lingering over Saurashtra and Kutch.

According to official release,in response to the crisis, approximately 2 lakh food packets have been distributed to those in need in the flood-affected areas. Essential equipment has been deployed in urban areas to initiate cleanup operations promptly. The Roads and Buildings Department reported that 48 roads in Jamnagar district are currently closed, but efforts are underway to restore them once the floodwaters subside.
