The Maharashtra Government puts Puja Khedkar's IAS probation on hold, asks her to report at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration."You are hereby relieved from the District Training Programme of the State Government of Maharashtra," said the release from the General Administration Department of Maharashtra Government, as stated in the letter by Maharashtra additional chief secretary Nitin Gadre.
This is the first major action against Ms Khedkar who had been transferred to Washim from Pune, where she was originally posted, amid allegations of manipulation of disability and OBC certificates for getting into the civil services. She has been recalled to the training academy for "further necessary action".Khedkar, a Maharashtra cadre officer, is accused of using fraudulent means to clear her UPSC Civil Services Examination, including allegedly misrepresenting herself under the physical disabilities and OBC categories, and misusing power and privileges during her posting in Pune.
Pune police will conduct an inquiry into the authenticity of medical certificates submitted by probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar, accused of misrepresenting herself under the physical disabilities category, an official said on Tuesday."We have received a letter from the Office of the Commissioner For Persons With Disabilities. They have asked us to check the authenticity of certificates submitted by Puja Khedkar. We will verify the facts about these certificates, from where they were obtained, which doctor or hospitals certified them will also be scanned," a senior police official  said.The authenticity of the certificates submitted by her are under probe.
