Progressive land policies have made Gujarat a role model:CM Patel

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Friday said that progressive land policies and citizen-centric governance have positioned the state as a role model and a growth engine for the country.Patel inaugurated the two-day National Conference on Land Administration and Disaster Management at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, which has brought together revenue officers and stakeholders from across the country.
Speaking at the inaugural session, the Chief Minister said, “This national conference on Digital India, land administration, and disaster management aligns with the need for development, economic progress, and social justice. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a new direction to governance by making it people-centric and integrating it with technology.”He underscored the importance of digitising land records and using indigenous technological tools to ensure land rights at the grassroots level. Patel added that the conference would provide a platform for states to exchange best practices, strengthen land administration, and enhance disaster management capabilities nationwide.

The event also saw the inauguration of new revenue offices, the launch of the Revenue Diary and the Integrated Land Administration System, and the distribution of SVAMITVA cards to members of the nomadic tribe, aimed at empowering communities with secure land ownership rights.Organised by the Department of Land Resources under the Ministry of Rural Development, the conference will feature thematic panel discussions on digital governance, sustainable land use, and disaster preparedness. Senior officials and revenue officers from multiple states are participating in the deliberations.
