The private schools in Madhya Pradesh are not in favour of starting classes for pripary and pre-primary group, despite the state government's decision to reopen educations institutions. The Shivraj Singh Chouhan government gave its nod to start physical classes for the students of 11th and 12th with 50 per cent capacity from July 26.

The state government has also directed that the classes for students of 9th and 10th will start from August 5, and will be held twice a week.

As per Madhya Pradesh government order, the classes for 9th grade students will take place on Saturdays, and those in 10th will attend classes on Wednesdays.

The officebearers of Madhya Pradesh association of private schools have released a statement which said that they are they are not in favour of holding both online and offline classes.

"If the government wants physical appearance in classes above 9th, they should first open it completely and stop online classes as students are not interested to join schools when online facility is available," the statement said.

In case of junior classes, the schools say that parents are not interested in sending their young ones to schools anticipating of possible third wave of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

The management of most of the schools has said it is economically not feasible to open their campus for such a few number of students in these classes, especially when the state government is not giving any relaxation.

The missionary schools too are against the idea due to financial burden as the government will not allow them to charge anything else other than the tuition fees. Chouhan has said that the classes will gradually resume from August 15.

Meanwhile, the government schools in state capital Bhopal have reopened, but have seen thin presence of students in classes.
