President Droupadi Murmu commenced her four-day visit to Gujarat on February 26 Wednesday, arriving in Ekta Nagar to commence a series of significant engagements across the state. After landing at Vadodara airport, she was welcomed by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat and state minister Jagdish Vishwakarma before traveling to Ekta Nagar. Her itinerary includes visits to key cultural and educational landmarks, reflecting her focus on heritage and learning.
According to official note, on February 27, President Murmu will visit the Statue of Unity and the Ekta Skill Development Centre in Kevadia, highlighting initiatives aimed at national unity and skill enhancement. Later that day, she will attend the 44th convocation ceremony of the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad as the chief guest, underscoring her support for innovation and design education.
On February 28, she is scheduled to participate in the convocation ceremony at the National Forensic Sciences University in Gandhinagar, emphasizing the importance of forensic education in public safety. She will also visit the Smritivan Earthquake Memorial in Bhuj, paying tribute to the resilience of communities affected by the 2001 earthquake. The President’s visit will conclude on March 1 with a tour of the Dholavira archaeological site, recently recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This visit highlights her interest in preserving India’s cultural heritage and showcases Gujarat's historical significance.
Before commencing her Gujarat tour, President Murmu graced a Mass Wedding ceremony organized by Shri Bageshwar Jan Seva Samiti at Gadha, Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh on February 26, 2025. Addressing the gathering, she reportedly emphasized the importance of moving from women-development to women-led development, urging people to prioritize women’s education, health, and safety. She highlighted that small efforts could significantly empower women and encouraged continuous self-reliance and educational pursuits among women.

Reflecting on India’s spiritual heritage, President Murmu acknowledged the pivotal role of saints like Guru Nanak, Sant Ravidas, Sant Kabir Das, Meera Bai, and Sant Tukaram, who inspired societal progress through their teachings. She stated that contemporary spiritual leaders could contribute significantly to building a self-reliant, harmonious, and environment-friendly India.
