Prashant Kishor announces his Mission Bihar

Poll strategist Prashant Kishor on Thursday announced his Mission Bihar. Talking to media persons in Patna, he  said: “After 30 years of rule by Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad, Bihar is the most backward state in India. If Bihar has to develop, it can’t walk on the path it has been walking for the last 10-15 years. It needs a new direction.” “Bihar’s future needs a concerted effort by all. It can’t be done by one person. People who really want to bring about a change in Bihar must come together,” he said. “Bihar’s education system and healthcare infrastructure are in a shambles. Bihar’s youth have to go out of the state to look for jobs. This needs to change,” he said. Prashant Kishor said that the situation was necessitated by the 30 years of “misrule” by Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar.  Kishor said over the last 30 years, supporters of both Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad and Kumar claim development took place during their tenures in the state in their own way. “Lalu Prasad’s supporters claim development with social justice while Nitish Kumar’s supporters claim development on economic and social parameters. There is some truth in their claims.”

PK  said that he will not announce a new political party or platform right now. He said he will work with like-minded people who want to bring about a “real change” in Bihar to bring about a positive change in the state. " I am going to talk to around 17,000-18,000 people, who are aware of the problems in Bihar, and try to bring them on a single platform. We should be able to complete the process by August-September,” he said. He also announced a 3,000 km ‘padyatra’. Kishor maintained that he has no personal enmity with Kumar. “If I meet him that does not mean that I am in agreement with him. He has three-year tenure left. Let him work,” he said.
