Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday reached Victoria, Seychelles, on a three-day State visit. Seychelles President Dr. Patrick Herminie, Cabinet Ministers, and senior dignitaries welcomed PM Modi with a ceremonial Guard of Honour. In a social media post Modi appreciated the warm welcome by the President of Seychelles Dr. Patrick Herminie at the Airport. The Prime Minister said that Seychelles is a valued maritime partner and a close friend in the Indian Ocean. Modi said that he is looking forward to a productive visit aimed at further strengthening India and Seychelles longstanding ties and enhancing cooperation for the benefit of the people of both the nations.
PM Modi visited the Seychelles National Botanical Garden in Victoria on Saturday as part of his ongoing State Visit to the island nation. Seychelles President Dr Patrick Herminie accompanied PM Modi during the visit. The engagement forms part of a packed itinerary during the Prime Minister's three-day stay in Seychelles, where he is attending the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the country's National Day as the Guest of Honour.

PM Modi praised the Indian diaspora in Seychelles for preserving and celebrating India's rich cultural heritage after witnessing a traditional dance performance from Kutch during his arrival reception. He described the cultural display as an "amazing cultural connect" and lauded members of the diaspora for keeping traditions from different parts of India alive. The performance formed part of the warm welcome extended to the Prime Minister at Seychelles International Airport.
