Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel have announced ex-gratia compensation for the victims of the tragic incident in Mehsana district,where nine laborers lost their lives after soil caved in at a construction site on Saturday, according to information.
PM Modi, in a tweet, expressed his sorrow over the loss of lives and announced financial assistance. He wrote, “An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakhs from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) would be given to the next of kin of each deceased in the mishap in Mehsana, Gujarat. Rs. 50,000 would be given to those injured.” The Prime Minister also conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel also expressed his grief over the tragedy, describing it as "very sad." Sharing a tweet, he said, "The incident of loss of life due to the wall collapse in Mehsana is very sad. I express my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased.
