In a politically surcharged atmosphere, the BJP on Saturday launched its three day membership drive in Gwalior. A large gathering of party workers’ including new members who defected to BJP from congress braved the Corona scare to display unity show of strength. Meanwhile Covid protocol adhering to VIPs sitting on the dais including CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, union minister Narendra Singh Tomar, BJP state president VD Sharma, MP Jyotiraditya Scindia, MP Narayan Shejwalkar, Prabhat Jha, Jaibhan Singh Pawaiyya, Ved Prakash Sharma etc was in place. Later addressing the gathering, BJP state president VD Sharma launched a scathing attack on congress and former chief minister Kamal Nath for corruption and 15 months misrule. Sharma dared Nath to call him deceitful person who paid hefty sum of money as bargain in Sonia Gandhi’s darbar. Nath has no moral right to speak anything bad against Jyotiraditya Scindia who left congress in public interest.
CM Shivraj Chouhan also attacked the previous congress regime for large scale corruption and anti-people policies. Kamal Nath was victim of his own folly by turning the assembly as brokers’ den, he charged Scindia ji’s pulling the rug was a befitting response to Kamal Nath’s remark. Instead of Scindia taking to street he (Scindia) brought the government (congress) to street.
Jyotiraditya Scindia said the previous congress government had 2 chief ministers, one led from the front and another from back. Large scale corruption was rampant. Kamal Nath scored better than PM Modi at one count - ban of public entry in vallabh Bhawan for 15 months. Scindia credited BJP leaders- CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, union minister Narendra Singh Tomar, State party chief V D Sharma including minister Praduman Singh and others to fulfil the public aspirations.
In MP, by-elections are due for 27 assembly seats. Among them 16 seats are in Chambal-Gwalior region. According to information local Congress workers tried to protest aginst the BJP but police arrest them.
