A Bharat Ratna for ex-Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh is going to redrawn political battle-lines in Uttar Pradesh. The Rashtriya Lok Dal seen as on the verge of dumping the Samajwadi Party (and INDIA) to ally with the Bharatiya Janata Party. RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary confirms alliance with BJP ahead of Lok Sabha Polls. He said "How I say No to PM Modi?"BJP-RLD alliance is invincible for even 2027 & 2029 elections. RLD will formally quit INDI Alliance when Rahul Gandhi's yatra will enter UP."Modi Ji's vision did what any other party could not do, till now," he added."Talking about seats or votes will make this day less important when I am being congratulated and PM Modi has given a decision which proves he understands the basic sentiments and character of the nation," he said.
In Lucknow,Akhilesh Yadav, while welcoming the Bharat Ratna for Chaudhary Charan Singh, has refused to comment on the RLD's possible breakaway."BJP knows how to break parties," Yadav added. The RLD and SP announced their alliance for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls on January 19, with RLD taking seven seats in western Uttar Pradesh.Both parties had allied in the 2022 assembly elections, with SP winning 111 seats and RLD securing eight seats. In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the RLD was part of the SP-BSP alliance, contesting Mathura, Baghpat, and Muzaffarnagar, but losing all three seats.
