Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, claiming the Janata Dal (United) chief betrayed the BJP to "sit on Lalu Prasad Yadav's lap," aiming to become the prime minister in 2024. Addressing a rally in Purnea in Bihar on Friday, Shah said that the threat of Jungle Raj is back in Bihar ever since sides were switched. I want to tell people - this Nitish-Lalu duo has now got exposed. Seemanchal will give a befitting reply to Nitish Kumar. Can Nitish Kumar become the prime minister by changing political alliances?, he asked. Within three years of rule, under PM Modi's leadership, the BJP had helped in getting rid of terror from the Leftist groups,Shah said.
"The BJP showed nobility because Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised you the CM post. But, when the Lok Sabha elections came around the corner, you betrayed us to become the next prime minister. The people of Bihar know you. They gave you the benefit of the doubt, but now they know you," he added. Shah further said, "They [JD(U)-RJD] say I came here to instill unrest. I am not here to instigate unrest. Lalu Prasad Yadav is enough for that. With Nitish Ji sitting on Lalu Ji's lap, I'm here to tell you border districts are a part of India. Fear not. We need not worry under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's reign." Shah urged locals to help in formation of a BJP government in the next state elections without an alliance. "He can leave RJD again to return to the BJP. He has only one policy - my chair should remain intact," Shah said. The people of Bihar will wipe out this duo. In 2025 also BJP will form government with full majority," Shah said.
