Nanda started acting as child artist out of necessity as her dance-cum-drama director father Master Vinayak died early.
But she rose slowly and steadily.
She became highest earning star in the 60s.
It seems almost every film in which she acted turned into a hit.

She didn’t have ego, hassles and acted with all actors including Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, Raj Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna - to name a few.
Her movies list is staggering; some of those are - Kala Bazaar, Hum Dono, Teen Devian, The Train, Ittefaq, Rootha Na Karo, Gumnaam, Joru Ka Ghulam, Prem Rog, Mazdoor etc.
She is very unassuming yet very professionally competent.
