India's first Bullet Train will run between Mumbai and Ahmedabad and the construction work is underway. Total length of the corridor will be 508 km, including 352 km in Gujarat and the UT of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and 156 km in Maharashtra.

Project will have 12 thematically designed bullet train stations- Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimora, Vapi in Gujarat and Boisar, Virar, Thane & Mumbai in Maharashtra.

The Gujarat stations of the corridor are nearing completion. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw earlier said that India's first bullet train service will commence very soon, and it will cut the travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to two hours and seven minutes.

During the Parliament's monsoon session, he said that work on the entire bullet train project from Maharashtra to the Sabarmati section is expected to be over by December 2029.Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train corridor features 25 river bridges, out of which 21 are in Gujarat and 4 in Maharashtra.

With modern design, cultural identity, seamless connectivity and eco-friendly features, the stations will redefine passenger comfort and set new benchmarks in travel. In Gujarat the train will start from Sabarmati station and in Maharashtra it will end at Mumbai Central.

National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) was incorporated on 12th February 2016 under the Companies Act, 2013 with an object to finance, construct, maintain and manage the High Speed Rail Corridor in India. The NHSRCL implementing this project.
